Practical information for school groups

The Grotte de Fontrabiouse, located in the Pyrénées-Orientales in southern France, welcomes school groups wishing to discover the cave during a guided tour.

This visit allows pupils to discover a remarkable natural site, the spectacular mineral formations and the large underground chambers that make the cave famous, while learning about its history and geological formation.

Tours are adapted to the pupils’ level in order to provide an accessible and educational experience.

School visits are by reservation only.


Conditions for school groups

To organise a school visit to the Grotte de Fontrabiouse, the following conditions apply:

  • minimum 20 people per group
  • maximum 40 people per group
  • reservation required

If your group exceeds 40 people, it can be divided into several groups.

Guided tours are not private. Depending on attendance, the pupils’ level and the size of your group, other visitors may join the tour.

To allow us to prepare a quotation and organise your visit, please include the following information in your message:

  • number of pupils and accompanying adults
  • pupils’ level (primary, secondary or high school)
  • desired date and time
  • name of the school or institution
  • a contact name and phone number

You may also provide your administrative details (such as SIRET or equivalent) if required for the quotation.
